South African Tourism cheers as vaccination mandate lifts

JOHANNESBURG — South African Tourism is welcoming the end of all of the country’s ******** restrictions

On June 22 South Africa’s cabinet concluded that the restrictions had served their purpose.

The vaccination requirement for entering South Africa has been dropped.

The latest revisions also include the removal of the ****-wearing mandate indoors and limits on gatherings and border checks for ********.

Abolishing the ****-wearing mandate and eliminating all restrictions on gatherings and port of entry vaccination requirements “is a step in the right direction and will significantly benefit the entire tourism sector value chain,” says the tourism board.

Two years before the ********, travel and tourism contributed 1.5 million jobs and R425.8 billion (more than Cdn$34 billion) to South Africa’s economy.

“It’s time to step into a brave new *****,” says South African Tourism ACEO, Themba Khumalo.
