Entire fleet will resume by this summer, says Costa Cruises

GENOA — ***** Cruises has confirmed that by summer, its entire fleet will have resumed operations.

Following the inaugural sailing of the new ***** Toscana on March 5, an increasing number of the company’s ships will be returning to service, joining those already in operation. By summer, all four of its new ships delivered in recent months – ***** Toscana, ***** Smeralda, ***** Firenze and ***** Venezia – will be deployed in the Mediterranean. Also, for the summer season, ***** is planning to lift rules around shore excursions, and given the gradual relaxation of the measures in place, is working to make them available in the spring.

*****’s program includes a total of more than 1,800 cruises from spring 2022 to winter 2022-23, featuring 179 destinations and cruises lasting from three to 127 days.

Here are some highlights of the 2022-2023 season:

After ***** Toscana’s maiden voyage on March 5, ***** Favolosa will depart on ‘mini cruises’ in the Mediterranean on April 28. This will be followed by ***** Venezia’s one-week itinerary in Turkey and Greece on May 1, and ***** Smeralda’s one-week sailing in the western Mediterranean on May 7.
***** Pacifica will resume operations on June 4 from Bari, exploring Greece and Malta. The two-week cruises to the Canary Islands and the Azores, originally planned for the Pacifica in April and May, will instead by offered by ***** Luminosa.
***** Fortuna will return to operations in Northern Europe on June 12.
After the winter season in South America, ***** Diadema will return to the Mediterranean with a cruise to Lisbon on May 5. ***** Fascinosa will also return to the Med on May 1 with a cruise to the Azores for ***** Club members.
Back from the Caribbean, ***** Deliziosa will resume Mediterranean cruises from April 15.
***** Firenze, having completed its season in Dubai, will be positioned in Genoa on April 7 to begin cruises in Spain, Italy and France.
In summer 2022, sister ships ***** Smeralda and ***** Toscana, together with ***** Firenze, will offer week-long cruises in the western Mediterranean. ***** Venezia will continue its new itinerary in Turkey and Greece, departing from Istanbul.
Also in summer 2022, ***** Pacifica, ***** Deliziosa and ***** Luminosa will operate in the eastern Mediterranean with one-week cruises. Four ships – ***** Fortuna, ***** Favolosa, ***** Fascinosa and ***** Diadema – will be deployed in Northern Europe, visiting the Baltic capitals, the Norwegian fjords, the North Cape and Iceland.
In winter 2022-23, ***** Firenze will be deployed on week-long cruises to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman, departing from Dubai. ***** Venezia will operate from Istanbul with 11-day cruises to Turkey, ****** and Egypt, while ***** Diadema will offer two-week cruises to the Canary Islands, calling in Lisbon. ***** Pacifica and ***** Fascinosa will sail in the Caribbean, while ***** Smeralda will offer one-week cruises in the western Med. ***** Toscana, ***** Favolosa and ***** Fortuna will be positioned in South America.
From next winter, *****’s grand voyages will be back. ***** Deliziosa will offer the ‘Around the *****’ cruise, departing from Venice on Jan. 6, 2023, or from Savona on Jan. 11, 2023. ***** Luminosa Grand Cruises, meanwhile, will depart Genoa on Jan. 8, 2023 and from Buenos Aires on Feb. 27, 2023, sailing from the Mediterranean to Tierra del Fuego and back, sailing up the Amazon River to Manaus.
***** Serena’s 2022 Asia program will be announced in the next few weeks.
