LONDON — British Airways pilots have called off a planned 24-hour ****** scheduled for Sept. 27.

Last week’s 48-hour ****** by the British ******* Pilots’ Association (BALPA) on Sept. 9 and 10 forced British Airways cancel hundreds of flights. It’s estimated that the two-day ****** impacted some 200,000 passengers.

BALPA said Wednesday that the Sept. 9 – 10 ****** demonstrated the “anger and resolve of pilots.” But general secretary Brian Strutton said “now is the time for cool heads and pragmatism.”

BA offered pilots an 11.5% pay raise over three years, but differences remain over pilots’ demand for a bigger share of the company’s profits. BA’s parent company, IAG, made a net profit of US$3.2 billion last year.

The ******* was already in the process of emailing passengers to rebook flights.
