Airlines including British Airways protest UK's 14-day quarantine

British Airways cabin crew vote to ****** effective Dec. 21

LONDON — Clients booked on British Airways flights this holiday season could see ****** action from the *******’s cabin crew after some 2,000 contract workers voted to walk off the job.

The ****** action could start any time after Dec. 21, however union officials would not confirm if the proposed ****** would impact travellers flying right at Christmas.

At issue is the pay rate for British Airways’ ‘Mixed Fleet’ cabin crew who have joined the ******* since 2010. According to reports, annual pay for the Mixed Fleet contract workers was advertised at between Cdn$34,000 and $41,000 but has turned out to be about $20,000 a year. About half of the Mixed Fleet workers have taken on second jobs and some have said they sleep in their cars between flights because they can’t afford gas to drive home.
