TORONTO — ****** are urging anyone with information to come forward after laying fraud charges against Mississauga, ON’s Libia ****** Paez, who allegedly ran a fake travel agency.

Earlier this month TICO announced it had charged Paez with two separate counts contrary to the Travel Industry Act, 2002.

Paez, the operator of Representaciones Neward Inc., was charged with one count of operating as a travel agent without being registered, and one count of failing to take reasonable care to prevent Representaciones Neward Inc. from committing the offence of selling travel under paragraph 31(2) of the Act.

Separately, TICO has also charged Representaciones Neward Inc. with one count of selling travel services without being registered contrary to section 4(1)(a) of the Act.

Peel regional ****** allege Paez defrauded 22 customers of more than $108,000 between April and December 2018.

They say the woman allegedly offered various vacation packages and accepted payments, but would then stop corresponding with would-be customers and not provide any further service.

****** say they’ve identified alleged ******* from Mississauga, Toronto and Brampton.

The woman now faces one charge of defrauding the public.

They say the ************* is ongoing and anyone with information is being urged to come forward.

Paez is set to appear in court on April 4.
