CALGARY — WestJet says its decision to keep its Edmonton-********* nonstops was based on feedback from WestJet passengers.

The nonstop service between YEG and LAS starts Oct. 11 with four weekly flights, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

“We heard directly from many guests that being able to fly nonstop from Edmonton to ********* on WestJet was a priority,” said Brian Znotins, WestJet Vice-President Network Planning and Alliances.

Myron Keehn, Vice President of Commercial and Air Service Development for Edmonton International Airport (EIA), said he applauds WestJet “for being so responsive to the priorities of travellers in the Edmonton Metro Region. The WestJet Group of Companies is offering our travellers the flights and the service they want.”

The flights depart Edmonton at 8:30 a.m., arriving in ********* at 10:30 a.m. On the return leg flights leave ********* at 11:20 a.m., arriving back in Edmonton at 3:20 p.m.

The only deviation from that schedule is from Jan. 6 through March 31, when the Sunday flights will operate a 6:15 p.m. departure from Edmonton and an 8:16 p.m. ********* arrival, and a 12 p.m. ********* departure and a 4:09 p.m. Edmonton arrival.

The airlines says the WestJet Group of Companies has the most international flights to *********, where both WestJet and Swoop will fly a combined 71 weekly flights from Edmonton, Vancouver, Abbotsford, Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Toronto this winter.

WestJet flies to 27 destinations from Edmonton – the most of any *******, with 56 average daily flights, linking the city with global markets such as London, England and Cancun, Mexico.

The Edmonton-********* route was part of Swoop’s new U.S. lineup when it announced its transborder routes earlier this month.

Meanwhile another low-cost carrier, Flair Airlines, also included Edmonton-********* on its schedule when it launched its new U.S. routes earlier this week. Flair also added a Winnipeg-********* route.
