0RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA – At least 22 passengers and two crew members have been taken to hospital after experiencing extreme turbulence during a JetBlue flight Thursday evening, reports CNN.
JetBlue Flight 429 was travelling from Boston to Sacramento when it encountered turbulence believed to have been caused by bad weather. At approximately 8:30 p.m. ET, said Katherine McMillan, a spokeswoman for the *******, the pilot diverted to Rapid City, South Dakota.
According to passenger Derek Lindahl, one female passenger rose two feet into the air at one point because she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. One crew member had to be assisted off the plane by medical personnel.
JetBlue sent a replacement aircraft to Rapid City to take the remaining passengers to Sacramento, the ******* said in a statement.
