CALGARY — A WestJet employee has been charged for allegedly issuing over $250,000 worth of fraudulent travel credits.
According to The Canadian Press, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams said that its Calgary Financial ***** branch charged Terance Gough, 43, with fraud and theft over $5,000 last Tuesday.
The response teams, known as ALERT, began a joint ************* with WestJet corporate security last July after an internal ************* was conducted by the *******.
Gough is alleged to have issued WestJet travel credits between 2012 and 2015 and that they were bought and sold by a third party.
No customers suffered financial loss as a result, and the company does not believe any other employees were involved, said a WestJet spokesperson.
