In his 89th year, William ‘Bill’ H. Maguire passed away suddenly on March 19. Bill, who served in both the Canadian ***** Forces and the Royal Canadian Navy in the 1940s and 50s, was the first two-year president of ACTA Ontario. He served on the national board for 12 years as secretary-treasurer, four years as vice-president of aviation and was also president of ACTA national between 1991-1993. He is also credited as being the father of ACTA’s i.d. program and was awarded a life membership in 1996. Bill is survived by his wife Doris, who he met in 1947 while stationed in Belfast.
