MIAMI — ********* Guillermo is swirling in the Pacific and could be headed toward Hawaii.

The Category 1 storm has maximum sustained winds early Friday near 90 mph (150 kph) with additional strengthening forecast during the next two days. Forecasters with the National ********* Center say Guillermo could become a major ********* this weekend.

Earlier Friday, Richard Pasch, a senior ********* specialist at the centre, said Guillermo is headed in Hawaii’s general direction but it’s too early to tell if there will be any danger to land.

The ********* is centred about 1,570 miles (2,525 kilometres) east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii, and is moving west-northwest at 17 mph (28 kph).
