DOHA — MSC Cruises’ newest flagship, MSC ***** Europa, reached another milestone on its way to launch with a naming ceremony held earlier this week in Doha, Qatar.
Taking place at the brand new Grand Cruise Terminal, the ceremony reflects MSC’s overall commitment to Qatar and the broader *********** region. A longstanding maritime tradition, the naming ceremony was hosted by comedian Hamad Al Amari and featured local artists, a cutting-edge video-mapping projection onto the ship’s hull, a huge ***** show and a grand finale performance by international singer-songwriter Matteo Bocelli. The glamourous night culminated in a spectacular fireworks show above the Doha skyline and a gourmet gala dinner onboard the ship.
MSC ***** Europa is considered the most innovative and environmentally advanced cruise ship in the MSC Cruises fleet. As MSC’s first LNG-powered cruise ship, it reduces emissions, features the latest water recycling technology, purifies wastewater and reduces underwater noise in respect of marine wildlife. Onboard, guests will find 2,626 cabins, 33 restaurants, bars and lounges, the longest dry slide at sea, a 104-metre-long promenade, six pools, MSC’s largest waterpark, bumper cars, street performances and the award-winning MSC Kids Club. In total, the ship boasts 19 different cabin categories, seven of which feature brand new designs.
MSC ***** Europa will enter service on Dec. 20, 2022 with a special four-night sailing from Doha to Dubai. For its inaugural season, it will sail seven-night to Abu Dhabi, Sir Bani Yas Island, UAE, Dammam, Saudi Arabia and Doha, Qatar, before moving to the Mediterranean in summer 2023 for seven-night cruises in Italy, Malta, Spain and France.
